So it’s been awhile since I have posted anything, I have been a bit busy taking care of my new hamster. Her name is Saskia and she recently had her front right foot amputated due to an injury so she has needed some extra love. But I crocheted some late Christmas gifts, mainly scarves but also some baby booties and a hat for my friend who just had her first baby, in the meantime.

I used Lion Brand Scarfie (in various colorways) for the scarves.

For the Denim/Navy – 204 Scarf, I followed the pattern on the wrapper (also found here)

For the Cream/Taupe – 206 and the Cream/Teal – 215 I changed the pattern a bit:

Row 1: Chain 23

Row 2: Extended half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and in each stitch across.

Row 3: Chain 2, turn, extended half double crochet in each stitch across. Repeat row 3 until you reach the desired length. Fasten Off and weave in all ends.

I love the look of the extended half double crochet because you get the great texture of a half double crochet but it is taller which makes everything work up very quickly.

And Red Heart Soft Baby Steps in Deep Sky for the booties and beanie. (Pattern for the baby booties came from TheCrochetBlog and Rachel Glassco provided the pattern for the adorable beanie)

Now that Saskia is feeling much better and back to being a very happy girl, I will be back to crocheting and posting regularly. I can’t wait to get started on my next project!
